2009 is the 15th anniversary of convening the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo in 1994. Due to the importance of this juncture and its sensitivity for population and development issues in the Arab region, a conference, titled Population and Development: Facts and Prospects, was convened in Doha,Qatar, on 18-20 May 2009.
